A PICTURE A DAY - DAY 111 - SUSHI

A very nice friend invited me over to learn how to make California rolls. A few days later I wanted to try it on my own so I went to H-Mart and bought the ingredients I remembered us using. Finding the right kind of rice (it needs to be sticky) was tricky since it was all in another language but I bought something that looked like it would work -- white and fatter then our rice we normally buy. After I cooked it, it came out as one great guey gluey glob! I used it anyway to see if it would work and of course it didn't. My sushi, after I cut it into slices, came out as little blobs. Now what to do? I really wanted this to suceed because MRT actually like the few I brought home from my mini lesson. I decided to cook a couple of cups of the rice which we had in our cupboard knowing it wouldn't stick together but maybe if I tried the seasoning with the some sushi spice, it could work? And perhaps putting extra water in with it and let it cook longer there might be a little bit of stickyness to it? (I spent seven dollars for my Japanese rice, btw.) In the end I added a little bit of the "glue rice" to the regular rice and it was perfect. SRT wanted to take pictures of my first attempt and put it on her blog but I told her someone would use it as blackmail agaisn't me so I quickly ate the evidence. (It was still good even though it looked bad!)
Question: Do you think it would work if next time I used brown rice, which is more healthier?
