A PICTURE A DAY - DAY 110 - Pretty Birds And A ....

As I looked over the side of the ornamental bridge I was crossing over, I saw this bright coal black and orange bird and quickly turned on my camera to capture it.
A few minutes later, another bird came to join it.

The first bird began to chirp loudly and sread it wings and I wondered why... Maybe I could look it up when I got home.

It wasn't until much later when I went back to do some editing that I noticed something slithering to the left of the picture... A SNAKE!!!!
FYI - I showed my photos to MRT and he said this bird is called a red-winged blackbird. Wiki says: "The call of the Red-winged Blackbird is a throaty check and a high slurred whistle, terrr-eeee. The male's song is a scratchy oak-a-lee, accompanied with a display of his red shoulder patches." Cool!
